Momentum

TAG Gallery Celebrates Two Years of Building Community, Expanding Opportunities, and Championing Contemporary Art

Exhibition Dates: August 7 – August 31, 2026

Opening Reception: Friday, August 7, 5:00–10:00 PM

Location: TAG Gallery, SoWa Art + Design District, Boston, MA

TAG Gallery proudly presents Momentum, a celebratory group exhibition marking the gallery’s second anniversary and honoring the extraordinary energy, creativity, and collective spirit that have defined its journey over the past two years.

Momentum is more than movement, it is the invisible force created through persistence, collaboration, and the courage to keep moving forward. Every artist contributes to this shared energy, each exhibition building upon the last, each conversation opening new possibilities, and every visitor becoming part of an expanding creative community. This exhibition celebrates not only where TAG has been, but where it is going.

Featuring works by TAG member artists across painting, photography, sculpture, mixed media, fiber, ceramics, and digital practices, Momentum reflects the richness and diversity of contemporary artistic expression. The exhibition explores themes of growth, transformation, resilience, connection, and renewal, inviting audiences to consider how creative practice gains strength through time, experience, and shared purpose.

Founded with the mission of creating meaningful professional opportunities for artists, TAG Gallery has grown into one of Boston’s dynamic contemporary exhibition spaces. In just two years, the gallery has welcomed more than 100 artists, launched numerous solo and juried exhibitions, developed educational programs and artist talks, established a partnership with

ARTSY, Artnet, and expanded its reach through collaborations with cultural organizations throughout Massachusetts and beyond.

The anniversary exhibition arrives during a period of remarkable expansion for TAG. In addition to its exhibitions in Boston, the organization is presenting exhibitions in Newton, Maynard, and Medford, while preparing its first New York exhibition, Weaving Connections, at Satellite Gallery in September. TAG will also participate in the Affordable Art Fair this October, continuing its commitment to bringing the work of its artists to broader audiences and new collectors.

“Momentum is not something we inherit, it is something we create together,” says Claudia Fiks, Founder and Director of TAG Gallery. “This exhibition celebrates every artist, volunteer, intern, collector, visitor, and supporter who has believed in our vision. Together, we have built more than a gallery; we have built a community dedicated to making contemporary art more visible, accessible, and impactful.”

Visitors are invited to celebrate TAG’s second anniversary throughout the exhibition with special programming, artist talks, networking events, and opportunities to meet the exhibiting artists.
