Boston, MA — The Art Gallery (TAG) is thrilled to present Inhabiting Space: Presence, Purpose, and Possibility, a compelling group exhibition on view from August 1 through August 31, 2025. Featuring over 40 artists working across painting, sculpture, photography, installation, and mixed media, this show explores the profound relationships between people and the spaces they occupy—physically, emotionally, psychologically, and imaginatively.

This month also marks a very special milestone: TAG’s one-year anniversary. Since opening its doors in 2024, TAG has hosted dozens of exhibitions, artist talks, and community events, becoming a vibrant hub for artists and art lovers in Boston’s SoWa Arts District. We invite the public to join us in celebrating a year of creativity, collaboration, and growth.

At the heart of Inhabiting Space is an inquiry into how environments, personal or shared, shape and are shaped by human presence. The works consider space as something fluid and alive: a container of identity, memory, transition, and transformation.

“Whether it’s a studio, a street, a shelter, or a state of mind,” says TAG Director Claudia Fiks, “space is never neutral. This exhibition reminds us of art’s power to reclaim, reinterpret, and re-enchant the places we live in.”
